With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Wendolyn E. Grant. Wendy joined the Republica Havas family in 2008 and has been at the heart and soul of our agency ever since. “Mama Wendy,” as she was often referred to by our people, has left an indelible mark on each of us who have had the privilege to have her in our day-to-day lives. A fierce supporter of many worthy causes, Wendy spent her entire life giving back to others. Her favorite charity, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, was her mission. The “Wendy Web” is extensive, and thus, we shared her with the world.  She was so proud of Republica, and always exuded a contagious love and pride for our company and our successes over the years. Many also knew her as the “Birthday Queen.” Almost every day, she would take the time to unite friends from all facets of her life through her thoughtful, caring emails that she curated with so much love in honor of those she loved.   A proud “Southern girl,” Wendy was born on January 12, 1958, in Monroe, Louisiana. The only child of Evelyn and Albert Grant, she went on to graduate with a degree in Accounting from Louisiana Tech University, and soon after began her career in public service.  She worked for U.S. Senator Connie Mack and later was one of Florida Governor Jeb Bush’s top staffers. After that, she led a historic project for artist Romero Britto when a pyramid art piece was erected in London’s Hyde Park. After the completion of such a monumental project, she then consulted with both the Government of the Bahamas and with Republica. She had been a consultant for about a year when we invited her to officially join the Republica family as vice president, corporate and community relations. And the rest is history. Wendy was a Director for the Women’s Conference of Florida which offers professional women from across the state a platform to address the most important issues facing women. Wendy’s memory will forever be inscribed in the tapestry of our agency. Her legacy will live on, and many times we will ask ourselves “What would Wendy do?” and the answer will always be easy. She’d do the right thing. And with the right people. We raise up her favorite Republica Havas café con leche in her honor, and send her love and light as she soars with the angels.  Rest in peace, Mama Wendy.
