Luz Maria Forero Lince November 16, 1933 – July 28, 2026 With profound sadness and deep gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of Luz Maria Forero Lince, who entered into eternal rest on July 28, 2026, at the age of 92, in Miami, Florida. Born on November 16, 1933, in Cali, Colombia, Luz lived a life that reflected beauty, faith, resilience, and unconditional love. She possessed a rare gift for seeing the extraordinary in the ordinary, expressing it through her art and the countless lives she touched with her warmth and generosity. A gifted painter, Luz was especially admired for her portraits, still lifes, and landscapes, each created with remarkable sensitivity and technical skill. She earned a degree in Interior Design from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas, and refined her artistic talents under the guidance of internationally renowned artist Scottie Biggers. Painting was not simply her profession or passion—it was the language through which she shared her heart with the world. In 2004, Luz suffered an unexpected cerebrovascular accident (stroke). What could have ended her artistic journey instead became one of the greatest demonstrations of her courage. Through determination, perseverance, and unwavering faith, she continued to paint without impediment, inspiring everyone who witnessed her extraordinary strength and indomitable spirit. Luz's life was enriched by many passions. A devout Catholic, she lived her faith with quiet conviction and joyful devotion. She loved singing in a choir and was an accomplished musician who played both the guitar and the organ. She delighted in traveling, cultivating beautiful gardens, preparing memorable meals for those she loved, and expressing her timeless elegance through fashion. She had an infectious sense of humor, an effortless grace, and a way of making everyone around her feel welcomed and cherished. Above all else, Luz was devoted to her family. She was the beloved wife of Leonardo Lince, with whom she shared a lifetime of love and partnership. She was a deeply loving mother to her daughter, Sandra Lince McDonnell, and a cherished mother-in-law to Kevin McDonnell. Nothing brought her greater pride than her grandchildren—Kevin Leonardo McDonnell, Alexandra McDonnell, and Joseph McDonnell—who were among the greatest joys of her life. She is also lovingly remembered by her sisters, Myriam Cantillo and Bellanith Cantillo. To those who knew her, Luz will be remembered not only for her extraordinary artistic talent but for the elegance with which she lived, the dignity with which she faced life's challenges, and the boundless love she gave so freely. She taught by example that true beauty comes from faith, kindness, resilience, and a generous heart. A Funeral Mass celebrating Luz's life will be held on Friday, July 31, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Hugh Catholic Church in Coconut Grove. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery. Although our hearts are broken, we rejoice in knowing that Luz has been welcomed into the loving embrace of our Lord. We will forever remember her radiant smile, her gentle spirit, her unwavering faith, and the love she poured into every canvas, every meal, every song, and every embrace. She lived with grace, loved without measure, and leaves behind a legacy that time can never diminish.
