Irma Castellanos, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at the age of 84 joining her parents, Nicolas and Lila Castellanos, and her brother, Reinaldo Castellanos, in eternal rest. Born on August 9, 1941 in Havana Cuba, Irma was a woman who filled the room with warmth, love and cherished time with family by reminiscing about old stories, sharing her own beautifully written poetry, singing, and sharing her contagious laughter and smile with everyone around her. Irma is survived by her three children, Nicolas Somarriba (Tamara), Irma Isabel Rodriguez (Tony), and Maria Teresa Somarriba, and her loving younger sister, Maria Flores. Her two granddaughters, Gilma Somarriba and Natalia Lopez, will always cherish the fond memories they have with her as well as the immeasurable amount of love that Irma had for them. Irma held the ability to touch the lives of everyone she encountered and will be deeply missed by those that knew and loved her. A viewing will be held on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 from 5:00pm to 11:00pm at Bernardo Garcia Funeral Home located at 8215 Bird Road, Miami, FL 33155. The funeral processional will take place on Thursday, January 8, 2026 at 8:00am departing from the Bernardo Garcia Funeral Home with interment to follow at 9:30am at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Cemetery located at 11411 NW 25th Street, Doral, FL 33172.
