In Loving Memory of Raymond Adrien Ligonde May 4, 1947 – October 6, 2025 It is with profound sadness and love that we announce the passing of Raymond Adrien Ligonde, who departed this life on October 6th, 2025, at Homestead Hospital, surrounded by his devoted wife of 48 years, Yvrose, and two of his children. Born on May 4th, 1947, in Les Cayes, Haiti, Raymond was the third of nine siblings. He was raised in Haiti before immigrating to New York in 1976, where he lived with his older brother and best friend, Pierre Ligonde, until Pierre’s passing in 2006. Their bond was unbreakable, and their friendship remained one of the great constants of his life. Raymond spent the first part of his life in New York, where he raised his family and created lasting memories with his many relatives and friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Yvrose Ligonde, and his children Reginald (Colleen), Jennifer, and Raymondy, as well as his stepsons Jerrey and Vladmir Pierre-Charles. He was a proud and devoted grandfather to Avery Ligonde (21), Madeline Ligonde (17), Caleb O’Neill (18), Skylar McKenzie (9), Naya Pierre-Charles (22), Emma Pierre-Charles (17), Ricky Pierre-Charles (11), Destiny Underwood (24), Jalissa Pierre-Charles (18), Rayna (24), Rhianna (18), Rileigh (13), and August (6). Being a grandfather was one of his greatest joys—he loved watching his grandchildren grow, celebrating their successes, and cheering them on with boundless pride. Raymond is also survived by four sisters, three sisters-in-law, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins who loved and admired him deeply. He was preceded in death by his beloved brother Pierre and his faithful dogs, Charlie and Toby, whom he cared for with the same devotion he gave his family. A man of immense joy and life, Raymond found happiness in home improvement projects, gardening, grilling, playing the lottery, and expressing his creativity through drawing and painting. A gifted and self-taught artist, his paintings adorn the walls of his home and those of family and friends—a lasting reflection of his imagination, passion, and spirit. Raymond was also known for his impeccable sense of style and his unmistakable pride in how he dressed. Whether in a crisp shirt or one of his favorite hats, he carried himself with confidence and class. His polished appearance was his signature calling card, a reflection of the same care and attention he gave to everything in his life. Raymond will be remembered for his kindness, humor, creativity, and unwavering love for his family. His laughter filled every room, his joy was contagious, and his presence left a mark on everyone he met. His loss is immeasurable, but his legacy of love, pride, and artistry will live on forever in our hearts. Forever loved. Forever missed.
