It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather, and husband, Rogelio P. Martinez Portuondo, who departed from this life on August 29, 2025 at 93 years old to be reunited with our mother Maria Elena Huarte-Arrue, his parents Esperanza Portuondo and Rogelio Martinez, and his brother Alfredo Martinez Portuondo. He is survived by his wife, Agustina Jewett-Martinez, his children, Maria Elena Galan & Jose Antonio Galan, Lourdes Maria Barrios, Jackie Jewett, Maria Jewett-Comas, Clyde Jewett, and his grandchildren Lucas Galan & his wife Liz Galan, Christopher Galan, Gabriel Galan, Michael Alexander Alvarez, Ariana Marie Alvarez, Mike Comas, Christopher Comas, Lazaro Comas, Gabriella De Los Rios, Evan Jewett, Emma Jewett, Angie Jewett, Sarah Jewett, CJ Jewett, and Nicky Jewett. Rogelio was born on January 28, 1932 in Habana, Cuba. He studied Accounting/Business Administration and worked as the Controller of his cousin’s business named Property Management Services. Anyone who knew Rogelio, knew he was the most loving father and husband a family could have. Dad we will miss you, but you will always be in “Our Hearts and Spirit”. Visitation is set for Sunday evening from 5pm to 11pm at Bernardo Garcia Westchester, 8215 Bird Road, Miami. His Funeral Mass will be Monday morning at 10am at Our Lady of the Divine Providence, 10205 West Flagler Street, Miami followed by his interment at Woodlawn Park Cemetery South, 11655 SW 117th Avenue, Miami.
