Sofia Gonzalez Born in Bayamo, Cuba, Sofia Gonzalez was the beloved daughter of Felix Figueroa and Sofia Milanes. Seeking freedom, she left Cuba and settled in Elizabeth, NJ, where she built a new life. She married her lifelong love, Isidro Gonzalez, and together they welcomed their cherished daughter, Leila. For many years, Sofia worked as an assembler at Sterling Plastics in Mountainside, NJ. She was deeply devoted to her family and could always be found at family gatherings, where her warmth and presence brought joy to those around her. After retiring, she moved to Miami, Florida, where she continued to embrace life with love and dedication. Sofia was a devoted wife and mother whose love and kindness will be forever remembered. She is survived by her daughter, Leila Gonzalez; her brother, Wilfredo Figueroa; and her nieces and nephews. She now reunites with her beloved husband, Isidro, who predeceased her in 2017.
