She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Armando Rodriguez, whom she deeply missed since his passing in 2008, and their son, Armando Jr., who left this world far too soon in 1966. Born on July 10, 1936, in Caldas, Colombia, Maria was the heart of her family, dedicating her life to creating a home filled with love, faith, and unwavering kindness. She was a woman of profound strength and deep devotion, leading by quiet example and instilling in her children the values of compassion, resilience, and generosity. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life—she prayed her rosary daily and lived by the guiding principles of love and service. Maria’s kindness knew no limits. Her home was always open to those in need—whether a young person seeking shelter, a friend in need of comfort, or a stray animal in search of care. She rescued and nurtured hundreds of animals back to health, and her love for plants and flowers made her garden a living testament to the warmth she cultivated in every aspect of her life. Among the greatest joys of her life was time spent with her family. Thanksgiving was the highlight of every year, when her home overflowed with laughter, love, and the comforting aroma of her famous stuffing, sweet potatoes, and candied apples. Her kitchen was more than a place for meals—it was a place where memories were made, stories were shared, and love was passed down through generations. Maria is survived by her loving children Maria Melba, Javier, Elisa, and Daniel; her adored grandchildren Aadil, Azhar, Qasim, Omar, Katiana, Mayleen, Adriel, and Brianna; and her precious great-grandsons Jorge and Rafael. She also leaves behind a small but strong circle of friends and loved ones, all of whom were touched by her kindness and grace. Though our hearts ache with her passing, we take comfort in knowing that Maria’s love, faith, and generosity will live on in the lives she shaped. She taught us that love is best expressed through action, that a warm meal can bring people together, and that even the smallest kindness can change a life.
